The Good Exchange is excited to join over 2,000 charities taking part in this year’s #GivingTuesday campaign, to be held on the 27th of November. The campaign was brought to the UK in 2014 by the Charities Aid Foundation (CAF), as an antidote to the mass consumerism surrounding Black Friday and Cyber Monday.

Giving Tuesday aims to inspire people to think of others in the run up to Christmas, and incite action –  be it through donating to charity, volunteering or simply helping a friend, neighbour or family member. The campaign in 2017 was an enormous success raising over $300m in online donations alone with volunteers and donors participating from 150 countries, including Antarctica. In the UK, the initiative received public support from celebrities including Ricky Gervais and Emma Watson, alongside big brands such as Virgin, ASOS and Sainsbury’s. The goal this year is to beat that record by encouraging goodwill and spreading empathy even further.

If you’d like to support a good cause local to you for #GivingTuesday then The Good Exchange has the answer.  With nearly 350 appeals from charities/community groups across the UK looking for funding, it’s so easy to find one near you or a charity that’s fundraising for a cause that you really care about.

As Ben Russell, Director of Communications at CAF, states:

“Giving Tuesday is a wonderful opportunity for people across the globe to get involved in a cause they care about, and last year people covering all seven continents worked together to make a positive impact on the lives of others. We can’t wait to see how our charity and corporate partners are going to pull out all the stops on the big day.”
