News – Sovereign Housing funds meal delivery service for people sef-isolating due to Coronavirus in Pan, Isle of Wight

Although community centres and cafes on the Isle of Wight have had to close due to Coronavirus (Covid-19) isolation measures, those in need can still enjoy a daily meal thanks to a charitable grant of £5,000 from the Sovereign Housing Association Coronavirus Fund, hosted via the Good Exchange. Pan Together , the charity which runs Downside Community Centre and the Isobel Café on the Isle of Wight, is offering a £2 a meal delivery service for those who live within Pan, Pan Meadows and Barton who cannot get out to the shops or need extra help and would like a hot meal delivered.

Rachel Thomson from Pan Together, said:  “If people would like a meal bringing to them, all they need to do is order by 10.30am for a delivery at lunchtime the same day.  We’re cooking foods to suit all tastes from shepherd’s pie to fish and chips; from minted lamb burgers to quiche and salad.  Some people are ordering in advance for a week or two whilst others are getting in touch as and when they need something.”
