Press Release – OCF’s Growing Mind Match Funding Campaign Launches on #GivingTuesday

Donate here to help disadvantaged children in Oxfordshire.

The COVID impact:

  • The number of recipients of unemployment benefit increased by 165% from March to September 2020, exceeding England average of 116%
  • South Oxfordshire one of the worst affected with slightly more than a trebling (or 202% increase) of unemployment benefit claimants.

Coordinated by Oxfordshire Community Foundation (in partnership with Home Start Oxfordshire, The Peep Learning Together programme and Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library), the Growing Minds initiative is an innovative and ground-breaking programme to improve school readiness in disadvantaged communities (many of which have been impacted severely by the COVID-19 pandemic).

OCF will match up to £30,000 of donations made to the Growing Minds home learning appeal via The Good Exchange. Every £1 you give will be doubled, becoming £2!

With £30,000 of match funding available your donation will help raise £60,000 to help Growing Minds provide books, in-home support and targeted group sessions for disadvantaged children from birth to five years old.
