Greenham Trust and Basingstoke & Deane Borough Council Cost of Living Community Fund
Local community groups and charities supporting Basingstoke and Deane residents struggling with the cost of living are to be given help by the council working together with Greenham Trust in the North Hampshire area.
Many local community and voluntary organisations play a key role in supporting residents in need or facing difficult financial situations. Now Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council is recognising this by partnering with the Greenham Trust to establish the Cost of Living Community Fund.
The joint scheme will be open to any not-for-profit community or voluntary sector organisation located and delivering services in the borough of Basingstoke and Deane.
Applications to the scheme will need to demonstrate clearly how the funding will help the borough’s residents with the rising cost of living, providing evidence there is a real community need for the resources the funding is being sought for.
The total budget allocated to the community grant scheme for 2022/23 is £85,000, and organisations can apply for a grant of up to £5,000. Under exceptional circumstances, a grant of more than £5,000 may be awarded.
- Guidance for users creating a grant application for this fund:
- Register on The Good Exchange: if you are a new applicant organisation you will first need to register on the platform
- Create new project: Charitable organisations must create a new fundraising project on The Good Exchange platform (please do not amend an existing project)
- Upload the Basingstoke & Deane Application Form as a supporting document: please answer all questions in the on-line application form on The Good Exchange as well as completing the Basingstoke & Deane Application Form. Some of the questions are similar on both forms and you can copy and paste your answers. On completion the Basingstoke & Deane Application form must be uploaded as a supporting document.
- Include keywords in the project details: Please include the words ‘Application for Cost of Living Community Fund North Hampshire’ at the top of the project details page on The Good Exchange.
- Outline how your project is applicable to the fund: Please outline how your project will directly support residents in Basingstoke & Deane affected by the rising cost of living. The project does not cover normal operating costs.
