Our Team

The Good Exchange team – making a difference

Marina Stedman

Head of Marketing
Marina has worked in technology marketing for many years, spending time at large corporations such as Microsoft and IBM and in small start-up organisations. She manages all areas of marketing for The Good Exchange from overall strategy, messaging, content, PR and social media as well as supporting and educating users on how to use marketing to support their funding and fundraising activities. Having previously been an international athlete, Marina now helps to coach a group of up to 50 children and young adults at Windsor, Slough & Eton Athletic Club.  

Ed Gairdner

Chief Operating Officer (COO)
Ed uses his 11 years’ experience in the British Army & subsequent cloud technology background to run day-to-day operations whilst building the nationwide network of users to needed to drive the ongoing success of the organisation. Ed is committed to bringing technology-led innovation to the sector, transforming current giving & fundraising processes to close the critical service funding gap and ensuring that much needed funds reach the charities that really need them. With four young children, Ed doesn’t have much spare time, but if he does have any, you’ll find him playing cricket, golf or yacht and dinghy sailing.

Helen Carlile

Systems Lead & Technical Support Manager
A desire to make a difference led Helen into genetics research in the pharmaceutical industry before moving into web design with a particular focus on communities and start-up businesses. With her experience in development of online giving, a passion for technology and  a love of community she is committed to advance and support The Good Exchange vision of transforming charitable giving. When not sitting behind a computer screen, Helen can be found hillwalking, travelling, running after her three children or volunteering in her local community.

Julian May

Business Development and Key Account Manager
Julian brings his 10 years’ experience of working in the voluntary sector as a trustee, project and stakeholder manager and helping hundreds of local charities and community organisations to fundraise effectively to help build relationships with funders, donors, applicants and partners on The Good Exchange. In his spare time he enjoys campervan adventures with his wife and son, surviving music festivals and messing about on the violin and guitar.

Misha Wallace

Client Services Administrator
Misha is the first point of contact for The Good Exchange users, providing full support, advice and guidance.  Her background in customer service and communication ensures that users have the best experience and get the most from the platform.  She also brings experience in Social Media and content to assist users in using these tools to promote fundraising. When not helping our users, Misha enjoys running the social media channels for a movie website, writing film reviews, attending the theatre and creating artwork.

Douglas Hogg

Head of IT and Development
Douglas manages the IT requirements for The Good Exchange's cloud platform, bridging business & development needs. With experience at both established corporates & tech start-ups, Douglas ensures that the platform meets requirements. He's currently delivering a series of major updates including migrating to Microsoft Azure, transforming user journeys for each target user and introducing APIs for integration, sharing & reporting. Douglas loves sports, fitness and holidays, usually playing sports on holiday! He counters that healthy side by a passion for Netflix.

Roisin Evans

Client Services and Marketing Support Assistant
Roisin Evans is the Client Services and Marketing Support Assistant at The Good Exchange. She has recently graduated from the University of The West of England, attaining a degree in Business Management and Marketing. Roisin has genuine passion for the charitable sector and is excited by the opportunity to raise awareness and support The Good Exchange, in its mission on closing the funding gap. In her spare time Roisin enjoys swimming and running and has set herself the target of running her first marathon sometime during 2019.
